Adrift and Askew 36
In 2008, I decided shut up about visiting Spain, and actually move there. I became an English teacher and began my new career in Barcelona, which is where my obsession with travel started. Europe is expensive and I didn’t make enough to survive long term, so after about a year I came home to recoup all the money I spent. I then set my sights on South America, specifically Chile, and I went. I lived in Valparaíso for two years. Valparaíso is a bit of a party town, so I did a lot of that and had tons of fun (while also being a functional adult and doing my job). When it was time to move on, I chose Montevideo, Uruguay, a much more low-key place. I’m now back in the States, visiting family and planning my next move – a long term backpacking trip though South America. I run a travel blog - - where I post photos and tell stories about where I've been and what I've done.
