War Horse Fact & Fiction, NAM This amazingly beautiful sculpture by Scottish artist Laura Antebi made of galvanised steel wire is in a new exhibition at the National Army Museum called 'War Horse Fact & Fiction' it tells of the forgotten heroes - horses who have been used in war throughout the ages. It also talks about how this story has been told through books like Michael Morpurgo's 'War Horse' which was made into an acclaimed theatre production by the National Theatre in London, NY and next year Toronto. Steven Spielberg has also made a film to be released soon. This sculpture is in the section about 'No Mans Land' and tells of the barbed wire the horses and men had to fight their way through. The exhibition had a pre-opening reception last night and opens 22nd Oct and runs until August 2012. Do check out the National Army Museum site and visit the exhibition if you're in London, it's free and so beautifully done, forgotten heroes indeed. http://www.nam.ac.uk/microsites/war-horse/
