These are the remains of the only railway system built in Laos. The Mekong river currents in this area are so strong that the French had to put, this small train (around 3km) to carry goods upstream. Up until today no other train exists in Laos.

    Contrary to what the map states this is still Laos (Cambodia is a few miles away)
