Dushanbe - National Museum of Antiquities - Bowl While Dushanbe's newer National Museum is impressive and contains a great collection, the older National Museum of Antiquities, "hidden" down a side street near the opera house, is well worth a visit as well. It contains the original reclining Buddha statue from Ajin Tepe monastery in southern Tajikistan (the one at the National Museum is a replica), along with many other archaeological finds. Make sure to visit the Ethnographic Museum next door as well. #Trovember

Born and raised in Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University (We Are!) for a degree in Applied Lingusitics and East European Studies. I also lived in Baltimore, Maryland for 18 years, spent a year in Kabul, Afghanistan, and am now living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
