I never knew Douglas Richard Twiss II, of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nation, but I wish I'd had the opportunity to meet the young man. It appears his parents lost their son at age 22 and built this memorial garden to his memory on these Traditional Lands of the Kluane First Nation tribe. As I was driving the ALCAN near Burwash Landing in the Yukon, some odd rocks about 75 yards off the highway caught my eye so I turned around to get a closer look. I was stunned by what I found. I've never seen a more authentic, heartfelt, artistic, loving and respectful site like this before. It is such an insight into the Native inhabitants and their respect for life, land and nature. This was the highlight of my day and I hope, if you make the effort to look at it closely, it will touch you the way it did me. #InStone
