I love travelling, seeing new places and meeting new people and see how they live their lives. I am now semi-retired with a wonderful family of 5 kids who except one, are all grown-ups with children of their own. My wife and I would travel with our youngest son who is in his teens. I like to keep myself fit running, cycling and walking. Just to be in another place is so very thrilling for me, to see how another country and city life compares with my own. To awe at the vast open spaces where mountains with flowing rivers and peaceful lakes, of hot deserts and the rolling seas, to watch wildlife that is so different from ours back home. While my wife, she will take thousands of pictures of flowers, plants and fruits. It is exciting when you absorb and experience the hustle and bustle of a strange city life at the street level. When you take a train or drive through the country, it's amazing to watch the changing landscapes or scenery no matter how insignificant with domains where you learn something new, something that NatGeo or the Discovery Channel did not or is not able to portray. But most of all, to be able to live in a house of people from another country, and talk to them up close and personal...that, is an encounter and friendship you don't get from hotel accommodation. We simply like to immerse ourselves with the local culture.
