Trover's East Austin Mobile Discovery Walk uncovers neighborhood delights

A big thanks to all the mobile photographers who turned out Sunday morning to meet up, trade tips and have a blast exploring one of the quirkiest, most colorful neighborhoods in Texas -- East Austin.

Led by East Austin resident and Austin Yankee Theda Sandiford, the group uncovered beautiful hidden gems everywhere from the art-scrawled walls on East Cesar Chavez Street to the dressed-up yards lining the neighborhood's residential drives.

The group huddled in the parking lot of East Austin's Nuevo Leon Restaurant before setting off on the trek. Three hours later, they met back at Nuevo Leon for lunch, conversation and the big announcement as judges Rama Tiru, Allen Ramlow, Jess Davis and Theda Sandiford selected discoveries to honor with prizes ranging from fun mobile accessories to a coveted South by Southwest Platinum Badge.
